Hi, if we havn’t met already I’m Clair ❤️ The woman behind Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful I’ve been working in wellbeing, healing and personal development for almost 20 years. Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful has never really been about qualifications, modalities or doing wellbeing “properly”. It’s about people. Real ones. With complicated lives. People who get overwhelmed, lose themselves, start again, get things spectacularly wrong, learn things, unlearn things, grow, change, laugh, cry, swear occasionally and somehow keep going. People like me. ❤️ A little bit about my work I’m a Reiki Master Teacher, Meditation Teacher and Akashic Practitioner, with extensive NLP training at Practitioner and Master Practitioner level. Over the years I’ve worked one-to-one with hundreds of people, taught students and trained practitioners, led meditations and guided journeys, and facilitated workshops, retreats, wellbeing days, groups and communities. I’ve run my own wellbeing studio and Reiki Academy, co-created Soul Café, and spent many years creating spaces where people could step away from the noise for a while, reconnect with themselves and simply be human. I’ve studied a lot. I’ve taught a lot. But mostly… I’ve listened a lot. To people. To their stories. To what hurts. To what helps. And to what sounds wonderful in theory but is almost impossible to do when somebody’s life is already full. Because I’m not just a practitioner. I’m a person too. I haven’t experienced wellbeing, healing and personal development only as things I teach. I’ve needed them. I’ve lived through illness. I’ve raised a family. I’ve cared for people I love. I’ve navigated neurodivergence. I’ve experienced loss, enormous change, uncertainty, exhaustion and overwhelm. I’ve known seasons where I had time and capacity to really look after myself. And I’ve known seasons where five minutes was pushing it. I know what it’s like to understand perfectly well what would probably help you… and still not have the capacity to bloody do it. That lived experience has shaped my work every bit as much as my professional training has. Because being knowledgeable about wellbeing doesn’t stop you being human. What I believe I don’t believe I’m here to tell you how to live your life. I don’t believe there’s one right way to heal, grow, practise spirituality or take care of yourself. I don’t believe wellbeing should become another list of things you’re failing to do. And I don’t believe you need fixing. I believe you know yourself better than anyone else ever could. Sometimes you might just need a little space to hear yourself again. A tool. A different perspective. A moment of stillness. A story that makes something click. A meditation. A conversation. An experience. A reminder of something you already knew. That’s the kind of work I create. What you’ll find here Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful is now home to different ways of experiencing my work. Well-being for Real Life is practical support for the messy, busy, demanding seasons of being human a collection of tools, practices, stories and perspectives you can reach for when you need somewhere to land. Holding Space is being created for practitioners and anyone who finds themselves holding space for other human beings exploring how we can be present for someone else without disappearing ourselves. Akashic Journeying will offer a deeper doorway guided journeys, meditation, energy and exploration for those who feel called to go inward and listen differently. And there will undoubtedly be more. Some of what I create is practical. Some is spiritual. Some goes deep. Some is beautifully simple. But all of it comes from the same place. Different doors. Same intention. To create spaces where you can step away from the noise for a while. Where you don’t have to perform, achieve or become a better version of yourself. Where you can explore. Feel. Rest. Question. Remember. Reconnect. And perhaps hear your own voice a little more clearly. Almost two decades of professional experience sit behind this work. A whole lot of lived experience is woven through it. But ultimately, this isn’t about me having the answers. It’s about helping create the conditions where you might hear your own. Take what helps. Leave what doesn’t. Trust yourself. And above all Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful. ❤️
